Over Thanksgiving weekend we headed out to fill our Christmas tree permit and finally get started with the Christmas season. We love having a real Christmas tree and the experience of going to the mountains to find and cut down our own. With high hopes of discovering the perfect tree we drove to the Manti-La Sal National Forest and started our search.
Nine Mile
When we realized we were near Nine Mile Canyon we decided we had to check it out! Nine Mile Canyon is known for it's extensive rock art and has been nicknamed, "The World's Longest Art Gallery." Despite the name "9 mile," this canyon is actually a 40 mile long road that winds through ranches and old settlements that date back as far as the 1880's.
Curing Cabin Fever
As we were talking about the places we have been and making plans for what we still want to do, we couldn’t stop laughing at some of the things that happened to us this past season. While we go to these amazing places for the scenic views, and hope for a perfect experience and trip, it’s always the unexpected moments, or the funny, unplanned things that happened to us that leave a lasting memory.
Lost Trail
Recently we headed to one of our favorite spots in Utah in search of some Indian Rock Art that we have vaguely heard about, but never seen. We love to look for the lesser known sites and knew it would be a challenge to try and find them, so we were excited to venture out together. Knowing we had a hefty hike in front of us we got as close as we could in the truck and then took off on foot the rest of the way (with lots of snacks) in search of this place.
