We are still here! It’s been almost a year since we have done a blog post… we took a little break while we welcomed our little babe into the world and adjusted to life with a newborn. While our summer wasn’t filled with spontaneous trips to the mountains, every day was still filled with new and exciting challenges. We are finally starting to get back out again and learning how to hike and camp with an 8 month old baby. Here is a collection of pictures from this past fall and winter.

We couldn’t pass up our annual trip to Zion National Park after Christmas and even lucked out with a warmer weekend and sunny weather! Zion is the perfect park to visit with young kids because you can see a lot of the infamous sites from the car and there are a lot of short easy hikes for the whole family to do. We were even able to take our stroller along the Riverside Walk Trail  (until we hit the ice!)

We are so excited to start showing our little one all of our favorite places! It is definitely an adjustment now with a baby, and we definitely aren’t sleeping in the back of the truck anymore… but what we realized by not getting out that much lately – is how much we missed and needed it.  Being outside is one of our favorite ways to spend time with each other, and we want this little guy to grow up loving the outdoors as much as we do.

  1. Congratulations, you two!! The photos are fabulous, and what a different scene Zion is in the winter time. We did that river walk one fall – no ice, but probably way more people. Enjoy all the (new) adventures with your little one! What a beautiful family and bright future you have. 🙂

    1. Thank you!!! Oh I’m so glad you are still following our blog!! We had so much fun with this little dude and are so excited to keep breaking him in! We lucked out with a slow week at Zion and it was sooooo nice to be down there without all the people! Before when we have gone in the summer it’s almost like an amusement park! Hope you guys are doing well!

      1. I can only imagine. Your personal pictures exude how much love is between you and this is a beautiful new chapter for you. Best wishes always. Can’t wait to see more.

  2. I almost took you guys off my follow list, but held out hoping you had disappeared because of the baby and would emerge again. I am so glad to get to see you and the baby. I love getting to see the wilds of the West through your site and hope to get back there soon ourselves.

    1. Oh I’m so glad you didn’t abandon us!!! lol… we’ve been meaning to do a blog post for awhile and life just got in the way! We’re motivated to keep it going and keep exploring with our little dude!!

  3. Yay!! Congratulations to you and Todd. <3 This is so great. Zion looks beautiful in the winter. (I was only there in the summer, and it was great yet a bit crowded.) Sending you all much joy and a fantastic first winter together.
    Blessings, Debbie

ps – good to have you back blogging.

    1. Oh thank you so much Debbie! It’s so nice to know we still have people interested in our blog! Zion in the summer is soooo crazy!! There are just way too many people. It was so fun in the winter because of that, less crowds, we just had to deal with the really cold temperatures!
