Favorite Fall Waterfalls

Most people think of waterfall hikes as a summer activity but in my opinion Fall is the best! Hiking temps are practically perfect with the cooler weather and old familiar trails become new again with the changing season. Here are some of our favorite waterfalls to visit any time of year in Utah County- but especially in the fall because of the bright red and yellow leaves changing on the trees along the trails.

Frozen Falls

Just because there is snow on the ground doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy the outdoors. Temps may be colder, but as long as you’re prepared to go hiking in the winter you’re in for a treat to see some of your favorite trails become new again covered with fresh snow! Plus you’ll have less crowds and no bugs - which for me is always a win!

Buckhorn

Even though we were in familiar places where we've been before, it felt different being there this time with our kiddos. Our hiking pace was a little slower, we had more stops for snack breaks, we stopped at practically every river, lake, and puddle we found to throw some rocks, but it was so fun to be there with them making new memories! When we revisit our favorite places with kids it really is like seeing it for the first time again. We love giving our kids as many opportunities as we can to run wild and let their imaginations be free!

San rafael

We have been to the San Rafael Swell more times than I can count. It's no secret this is one of our favorite places to go since we've done multiple blog posts about the Swell and it's where our site title came from. 😉 It's where my husband and I fell in love, where we escaped to relax and recharge when we needed a break from our 50 + hour work weeks... and now it's where we are taking our boys so they can grow up exploring and loving this place as much as us.

THE HIKE

Hiking has always been something the two of us have loved to do together, and still love to do! It just looks a little different these days. What used to be the two of us hiking 15 miles a day through the desert and rugged terrain has turned into shorter, mini hikes with our babies in tow....but we are so happy that we are still able to get outdoors and hike some of our favorite trails and explore off the beaten path - our favorite way to adventure!

Manti La Sal

The countdown is on until this next baby comes and we're still trying to squeeze in a few last adventures while we can! This past weekend we knew we wanted to get out and do something, but didn't know what. So we just packed up our stuff and loaded up the truck and set out on a drive and didn't know where we would end up.

Toddler Tips

Camping and hiking with toddlers. A lot of people can feel overwhelmed with this idea so they opt not to do it... but if you're prepared and plan your trips out well ahead of time it's so fun to make these special memories with kiddies outdoors and give them new experiences.

Creek

We're always striving to keep giving this guy new opportunities and experiences, access to nature and the opportunity to run wild, and let his imagination be free.

Midway

Our little dude thrives when he is outside, so we have been trying to make an effort to get him out exploring more and more! This weekend we went to the mountains to hike, let him run around, get dirty, and play in the water.  Hiking these days sure looks a lot different than it used to....now being 7 months pregnant and having a two year old with us... but it's always so fun and good to get out in the fresh mountain air!
