I've said it so many times before, but Fall in Utah is my favorite season ever! I love when the leaves start to change and the mornings start to get crisp, but the afternoons are still warm... and I really love the yummy comfort food I can start cooking again 😉 but what I love … Continue reading Boulder
HOME
While we love to get out and about and explore the world around us, we also just love the times we get to be home! We live in the prettiest state surrounded by mountains, so we try to take advantage of some of the amazing places near by, and just enjoy our summer nights in our back yard 🙂 The sunflowers covering the fields around us this time of year are my favorite!
Between
This summer has been a busy one! We've had lots on our to do lists, been trying to get out as much as possible, and took our little buddy to the beach for the first time! It was so fun to take him to the water and see him explore in the sand (and eat it.) It was a refreshing change of scenery for us since we don't adventure off to the beach often, we are usually roaming around the desert without much water in sight.Â
Camped
Spring in Utah has been a rainy wet one! While that has made it a little trickier to plan camping trips with a one year old, it’s made the scenery completely beautiful and so so green! In years past it has felt like we have gone directly from a freezing cold winter, to a hot dry summer. So we loved finally being able to enjoy an actual spring with the fresh dewy air and green mountains and landscapes for a change.Â
Plus One
We are still here! It's been almost a year since we have done a blog post... we took a little break while we welcomed our little babe into the world and adjusted to life with a newborn. While our summer wasn't filled with spontaneous trips to the mountains, every day was still filled with new and exciting challenges. We are finally starting to get back out again and learning how to hike and camp with an 8 month old baby. Here is a collection of pictures from this past fall and winter.
Out N Back
We're still here! We haven't been that great at keeping up with our blog lately, but we have still had some amazing trips around Utah that we wanted to share with you. We found a few new spots that we loved, as well as visited some of our old time favorites. Here are some pictures from the last few months from Lake Powell, Bryce Canyon, Zion and Bears Ears!Â
Zion
One of our favorite trips from last year was when we went down to Zion in the fall because we loved being able to see the colorful fall leaves paired with the red rock backdrop. Since we haven't had a chance to make it down to Zion this year yet, we decided to drive down for a quick day trip this past weekend.
Reef
It's been a crazy summer and seems like it went by in a flash! Did it fly by for anyone else?? We are so excited for the fall and it's definitely our favorite time of year! We love the cooler days and the crisp fall nights, and this is when we find ourselves out exploring every weekend! It's a nice change after a hot, busy summer filled with crowds everywhere you go!
Raven
This past weekend we headed down to Canyonlands for a sunset hike to False Kiva and some star gazing under the new moon. Out of the many times we have been to this area we have never done this monumental hike and I am so glad we were finally able to see it at sunset because this time of day casts the best shadows! The only thing I didn't enjoy were the bats that flew above us as we hiked back out! The desert seems to come alive at night with all the creatures above and around you! We decided to sleep in the back of the truck so we could spend the night looking at the stars. It was a quick, spontaneous trip but those have become some of our favorite because the memories we make last forever.
