Birthday

This weekend was full of outdoors adventures for our baby boy's 2nd Birthday! I still don’t know how this happened but it is so fun watching him grow up and learn new things and we are just trying to cherish every moment before baby brother joins our family in a few months!

The First Swell

I think we can all agree that life has been crazy the past few months! Nothing is normal, pretty much everyone is working from home, homeschooling their kids, and there is so much uncertainty that a lot of people are crippled with anxiety. With everyone's schedules and routines interrupted - it felt good to finally be able to go back to one of our familiar places that we love - and leave the craziness of the world behind for awhile. A place that feels just as much like "home", as being "home" does.

Snowshoe

We're still here and surviving the winter, even though we haven't been good at blogging about it! Did January feel like it was soooooo long for anyone else??? 😉 The whirlwind of Christmas and New Years came and went and now we're counting down the days for warmer weather! Unfortunately for us, we still have a few more months of winter... so we are still finding ways to get outside as much as we can doing winter things that we love!

The Hunt

One of my favorite traditions we started years ago was going to the mountains and chopping down our own Christmas Tree the day after Thanksgiving. I practically count down the days until we can get our tree every year, and seeing as Thanksgiving was late this year - it felt like I had to wait forever!

Between

This summer has been a busy one! We've had lots on our to do lists, been trying to get out as much as possible, and took our little buddy to the beach for the first time! It was so fun to take him to the water and see him explore in the sand (and eat it.) It was a refreshing change of scenery for us since we don't adventure off to the beach often, we are usually roaming around the desert without much water in sight.

Plus One

We are still here! It's been almost a year since we have done a blog post... we took a little break while we welcomed our little babe into the world and adjusted to life with a newborn. While our summer wasn't filled with spontaneous trips to the mountains, every day was still filled with new and exciting challenges. We are finally starting to get back out again and learning how to hike and camp with an 8 month old baby. Here is a collection of pictures from this past fall and winter.

Zion

One of our favorite trips from last year was when we went down to Zion in the fall because we loved being able to see the colorful fall leaves paired with the red rock backdrop.  Since we haven't had a chance to make it down to Zion this year yet, we decided to drive down for a quick day trip this past weekend.

CACTI

Spring is finally here and we are taking advantage of every free weekend we have! We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful area where you can be in mountain meadows one day, and then in the desert exploring Indian ruins the next. We hope everyone is enjoying the change of season and getting ready for your next adventure! We definitely are, and we can't wait to show you what we have been up to!

Back to Basics

We're back!! The long, cold winter here in Utah finally looks like it is coming to an end. Spring is in the air and we are getting back into our weeekend adventures hitting all of our favorite spots. Our first real camping trip of the year was down to Canyonlands. It felt so good to be back outside soaking up the sun and hitting trails like Aztec Butte and Murpheys Trail in the Island in the Sky District. What we love about Canyonlands is how vast and massive this National Park is. It is so spread out and there is so much to do and see that we try to go somewhere different each time we visit. If you are planning to go to this area and only have a few days we would suggest to concentrate on a single area at a time and see everything you can. There are layers upon layers and endless canyons to explore.
